The herpes virus exists in the form of cold sores and genital herpes. It is estimated that one in eight Australians now carry this virus. Both forms can now be treated medically but unfortunately the virus will always live in the nerve tissue and attack when you are run-down or have a lowered immunity.

Cold sores usually appear as a series of blisters grouped in a small area around the lips. The blisters quickly dry to form a scab which then takes several days to heal.

If genital herpes is continually recurring then a course of an anti-viral medication is available from your doctor, which suppresses the virus and relieves the debilitating attacks.
